Job Description


Responsible for the company's Internal Controls function and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, serving as the subject matter expert and liaison with General Dynamics' corporate headquarters and external auditors.


* Ensures adequate internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements

* Oversees documentation of key business processes and identification of significant financial reporting risks

* Oversees systematic audits to ensure sound application of internal controls as applied to financial and administrative activities and practices

* Evaluates control deficiencies, and monitors remediation actions, timelines and progress

* Communicates status of initiatives with senior leadership, corporate headquarters, and external auditors

* Supervises assigned staff, which may include subordinate managers

* Reviews, develops, and implements compliance policies, programs, and procedures

* Maintains current knowledge of laws, regulations, procedures, and policies governing contract compliance and internal auditing

* Other duties and projects as assigned


Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

CPA Required


Experience Requirements:

* 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in public accounting

* Deep understanding and application of GAAP requirements

* Deep understanding of government contract accounting, including FAR/CAS requirements

* Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.

* Must possess excellent attention to detail and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

* Demonstrated track record of excellent leadership and team skills required

* Must be able to work with little direction and handle multiple tasks successfully and simultaneously
