Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking Mid to Senior Level Architectural Historians to support the FEMA Public Assistance Recovery Program on an on-call basis.

This is a fantastic experience to travel to new locations, meet new people, learn new things and help people recovery in their time of greatest need.

Will report to our Chantilly, VA office but work location will vary based on the project.

Key Responsibilities

* Review projects and project details for historic structures for compliance with Section 106 requirements, specifically with regard to structures in communities of historical significance that may be eligible for entry on State or national registries

* Perform site visits and meet with Grantee/Sub-grantees to advise as to potential impact of proposed repairs and mitigation measures on the historical integrity of the structure, and to ensure that work reimbursed under the Public Assistance Program was accomplished in conformance with regulatory requirements

Skills / Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree required

* Minimum of 5 (five) years' experience in architecture

* Extensive knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation

* Expertise in National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 compliance and other relevant legislation, rules and policies

* Must have experience using the Emergency Management Mission Integrated Environment (EMMIE) database

* Must be able and willing to travel to projects sites 100% travel required

* US citizenship required

* Must pass FEMA background security check
