Drama Kids is excited to offer a brand-new series of workshops for aspiring actors! Each workshop has a different topic, so students can choose to attend one, two, or all three. There are intro workshops for elementary schoolers and more advanced workshops for middle and high schoolers.
Note: Students who enroll in all three will get 20% off!

Audition Techniques Workshop (Jan. 27, 12:00-2:00 for elementary schoolers, 2:00-4:00 for middle and high schoolers, $50/student)
One of the most important components of theatre is a strong audition. Without proper technique, students can get frustrated and disheartened. This workshop gives students the tools to craft a solid audition. Students may opt to bring in a memorized monologue or they may choose to use one provided. Students will receive individualized instruction and feedback.

Comedy/Improv Workshop (Feb. 3, 12:00-2:00 for elementary schoolers, 2:00-4:00 for middle and high schoolers, $50/student)
Improv is a fundamental--and extremely challenging--element of great acting. Some kids dream of being stand-up comics, where improv is the primary currency. But great improv skills are essential for all actors. Actors need to be prepared when a fellow actor misses a cue or drops a line, and students trained in improv have a huge advantage. Plus, creating comedy routines is a fun, creative way to spend an afternoon!

Musical Theater Workshop (Feb. 10, 12:00-2:00 for elementary schoolers, 2:00-4:00 for middle and high schoolers, $50/student)
Nothing excites an audience like a great song and dance number! But succeeding in musical theatre requires triple-threat talent--acting, singing, and dancing. This workshop will help actors with cold readings from musicals. Students will also be invited to bring in a Broadway song to sing (or any song they may know). The instructor will provide feedback and help add appropriate dance/movement to musical numbers.
