Lobby firm seeks qualified candidates for a full-time position located in Washington, D.C. as a research assistant specializing in health policy.

Responsibilities include:


Monitor legislative, executive and regulatory activity and identify developments of interest to a variety of clients across the health care policy spectrum:

Attend pertinent Congressional hearings, meetings of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) and health policy briefings; write timely summaries for clients
Correspond directly with clients via phone and email to keep them appraised of notable developments; this may include regular briefs on Capitol Hill/administration activity or one-off assignments on specific topics
Assist partners in drafting policy landscape memos to help clients refine strategies for policy goals and shape responses to legislative or executive developments, or letters for clients seeking to comment on proposed rules and regulations from the administration
Support partners in researching potential new clients and responding to requests for proposals.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and communications skills and a familiarity with legislative procedure in both chambers of Congress. Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
