A Peek at the Job
The Executive Assistant (EA) plays a key role in delivering an exceptional professional experience for our association by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the CEO’s office. The EA works closely with the CEO, anticipating her business needs, and delivering results based upon her expectations and standards.
Do you have experience tracking, monitoring, and guiding the progress of executive-level projects, action items, and strategies to ensure they remain on course? If you are a “take charge” kind of person, you will use your skills to steer the CEO and project leaders to meet their critical deadlines. Having a knack for anticipating others’ needs and delivering work product based upon expectations and standards is a critical skill for this position.
Our EA takes the lead on providing many deliverables to the Board of Governors, such as preparing board books thrice yearly, planning and organizing new Board Member orientation, updates to the leadership manual, managing speaking engagements at state land title association meetings, and providing personalized schedules and travel information for all major ALTA meetings.
The EA in this role must relish managing an active calendar of appointments and the associated logistics, be adept at arranging complex and detailed travel plans, meticulous at preparing presentations and correspondence, attentive with expense reports, analytic when processing email and snail mail, and systematic with the handling of physical and electronic files.
An assertive, organized, self-starter will find success in this position. We seek employees who remain calm and effective under pressure, and who can empathize with our members and teammates in the pursuit of the best possible results. The individual we’re looking for acts with grace in stressful situations, listens and communicates well, acknowledges and learns from their mistakes, and exhibits high self- and situational awareness. Helping a CEO deliver exceptional results daily is no small task, but the satisfaction at the end of a productive day is its own kind of reward.
