Purpose of Position: The Assistant to the Executive Director serves as the administrative lead on behalf of the Executive Director and coordinates with the VPO to lead the administrative aspects of organizational management/governance. There is an opportunity to grow into a Deputy Executive Director after 8 months of above average performance.

Overall Job Description:

Maintains all official communication of policies and projects to the volunteer staff
Ensures that organizational deadlines are met and manages the master "to-do" list of all 
committees, senior staff, and the board
Serve as the single point of contact to volunteer staff re:
Manages the schedule and public appearances of the Executive Director
Serves as the special project manager as needed
Support other staff as needed (and at their discretion) for tasks such as program outreach, marketing, teaching fellow recruitment and management, and grants
Other administrative duties include updating organizational documentss, contributing to grant applications, knowledge-sharing and dissemination across GHE committees, maintaining communication with stakeholders
