This position will provide accounting, administrative and analytical support for IndraSoft’s Reston, VA headquarters. Qualifications Required: A minimum of 3 years accounting or finance experience with progressive responsibilities highly desired. Attention to quality detail in the areas of records and documentation, business processes, customer satisfaction, and workload prioritizations. 1-3 years of hands-on knowledge and experience working in an established government cost accounting system. Experience with PROCAS or Deltek, for example, is preferred but not required. Federal Government Services accounting experience is preferred. Understanding of, the compliance and budgetary relationship between contract/proposal pricing, contract award values, contract performance periods, contract invoicing, and project reporting. Excellent customer service skills, in respect in dealing with employees, supervisors and outside contacts concerning accounting policies and procedures Ability to work both independently and in a team environment that is fast passed and deadline driven. Willingness and drive to learn new skills and processes to lean full cycle accounting function. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: AP: processing and quality-assuring vendor invoices received for payment. Ensure accuracy and completeness of company payment obligations to vendors and tax authorities. Ensure proper account coding Prepares and submits monthly contract billing. Review A/P & A/R invoices to ensure proper coding to appropriate accounts in PROCAS accounting system Set up new accounts and sub-accounts as needed. Resolve purchase order and vendor invoice discrepancies. Review coding and verify math on invoices submitted. Analyze General Ledger accounts to confirm completeness and accuracy of data; use judgment as to whether account balances are correct; examine accounting documents to ascertain that transactions are properly supported. Assist with account reconciliations. Review expense reports for accuracy and completeness, including proper documentation. Maintain current and accurate vendor documentation for contracts and tax requirements. Work with project teams to provide contract/project structured financial reports to program managers. Set-up and review proper coding for timesheets and expense reports. Maintain Fixed Assets and file Tangible taxes assets for various states Process Sales Use Tax for various states T&E: processing and quality-assuring employee submission of travel and expense reimbursement requests; Tools: proficiency with common business office tools including the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel , Word , and PowerPoint ) Communications: strong listener. Customer focused with excellent internal and external facing written/verbal communication skills; Dependability: ability to work independently, accept mentoring, and contribute in a team environment; May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Physical Demands: While performing duties of the job, the successful candidate will be exposed to normal demands of an office environment, including: sitting and working at computer for long continuous periods each day, effective communications by telephone, email and face-to-face, standing, walking, sitting, handling and feeling objects or controls, reaching, talking and hearing, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
