DESCRIPTION
Mi Casa is a nonprofit affordable housing developer committed to providing quality affordable housing to low and moderate households in the Washington DC area.
The organization has been around for 25+ years. Due to tremendous growth, they have an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Assistant to join their team!

The Accounting Assistant will report to the Accounting Manager, and will be tasked with a variety of duties in a fast pace environment. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
· Record all deposits & all bank transactions (wires, transfers, ACHs, etc) in property management software Appfolio & QuickBooks.
· Process & Cut A/P Checks for rental accounts & Mi Casa’s corporate books.
· Record & reconcile all credit card expenses.
· Review monthly rent roll reports to ensure accuracy.
· Responsible for all general ledger account activity to ensure accurately and properly recorded.
· Maintain accuracy of intercompany accounts between Mi Casa books and owner managed properties.
· Assist rental manager with rental collections.
· Assist accounting manager in month end close.
· Maintain organization of all accounting department files.
· Set-up new vendors and assist with processing 1099s and W9s
· Assist with external audits and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SALARY
Minimum: $32,000.00
Maximum: $35,000.00
